We had a great Fourth of July weekend, and kept ourselves very busy!
First, Brett bought a new toy on Friday - he is extremely excited.
He's wanted a kayak for awhile and finally found a person selling a brand new one in his price range. Very happy guy - now if he just had a paddle, he'd be set!
After a day tooling around the house on Saturday, we headed down south to the Haft's for a Fourth of July party. The boys played golf all morning and the girls (5 little ones included) relaxed and hung out. You would never be able to tell that these girls get along. :)

We lit off some fireworks, which much to our delight, Paige participated in this year. I think it was peer pressure and the fact that her two year old sister was ALL over it.

Next up, S'mores!! Once the girls were properly sugared up, we headed home. It was a great day and we had a blast with all the friends!
Our little adventure weekend kept going the next day when we decided to take an impromptu trip to Whidbey Island on the ferry. The girls love going on the ferry so it was a real treat. Granted, Kendall slept the entire ride, and I realized once we were getting OFF the ferry that I should have probably checked the wait times to come home. 2-3 hours! Oops! Needless to say, we headed off to see what we could find on the island.
ICE CREAM!
And beaches, and rocks, and huge cannons, and drift wood and a looooooong drive around the island and across Deception Pass to get home. Driving for three hours is WAY better than sitting in a car for three hours waiting for a ferry with a two year old.

All in all, we had a great family weekend, so much fun, and the kids were completely worn out by Monday night. Hope you all had a great time too! More pics of our summer activities.
